This can vary depending on the person but on average, it can take just about 2 months for a person to form a new habit. Again, this is an estimate. Some people can develop a habit easily within a couple of days while others might take months, even up to a year.

What are the 5 healthy habits?

Just in case you need a bit of a boost, here are some healthy habits that might be just what you need.

  • Eat healthily
  • Limit alcohol
  • Cut down on sugar
  • Walk 10,000 steps every single day
  • Start your morning off with yoga

Now as you can see those might not be for you but what they do is give you a great example of how easy it can be to write down your goals so that they then become your habits. Healthy habits are habits that you want to do to better your health which typically includes eating better and trying to exercise, too.

What are good habits?

If you’re not wanting to have healthy habits, there are other habits that you can focus on. Getting to bed early, turning off social media after a certain point in time, cleaning your bedroom daily, and even volunteering weekly within the community are all great habits that anyone can do.

Spending more time with your kids, reading for 20 minutes everyday or starting the day without looking at your phone can help you with your personal and self-care goals.

Is a habit the same thing as a routine?

Basically, it is. It is pretty much the same thing but keep in mind that your end goal is to not only start good habits but then to also have those habits end up being a daily routine as well.

As with any habit, you should want it to become your norm as long as it’s a habit that is good for you and your well-being. And when you keep up with that daily habit, there’s a good chance that it will just slide into your normal routine without making a hiccup at all.

Starting a habit really does begin with you! Once you have your mind made up that it’s time to start a new habit, you then have to do what it takes to make it stick. The first thing that I would recommend is having your habit tracker to help you out.

These will hold you accountable and also show you the areas that you can easily improve in as well. The more you know about creating habits and sticking to them, the better you’re going to be at doing it! Get your healthy habit tracker printable and use it daily!
