If you want to reach your goals then start here. And I would love for you to join this journey and make BIG things happen in your own life.
Once you have organized your life and decided what changes you wanted to make and goals you wanted to pursue, you planned it out. You set your goals and figured out how to get there. But there is one last and most crucial step to take in order to reach your goal and that is you must take action!
Just because you want something to happen doesn’t mean it will happen. You can’t just sit around and wait for it to happen, you’ll be waiting around forever. You have to work towards those goals. Roll those sleeves up and put the work in. It might not be easy, it may take time, it will probably be hard, but you have to put forth the effort to reach your goal.
Remember that “luck happens when preparation meets opportunity”. Why do some people seem to be so lucky? They have put the effort and work into their goals and ideas and whenever the time came they were ready to seize the opportunity.
You can be just as lucky. But you must first be prepared. If you want to run a marathon, it most likely will not happen if you just get up off the couch one day and try to run 26.2 miles in a row. You have to train. You have to put in time and effort. You have to practice, so when your time comes you will reach your goal.
So how can you start to take action and reach your own goals?

Have a Compelling Reason For Your Goal
Are you in a financial hole and you desperately need to get out of it? Is your health being compromised and you have to make healthy lifestyle changes? For me personally, I have found that I must have a good enough reason why I want to do something. When I was in a financial pickle I had no choice but to do something about it, so I went back to nursing school. On the other hand, I’ve been talking about losing weight for 10 years. Have I lost any weight? No. Why? I guess it doesn’t matter to me that much. In order for me to go from a thinker to a doer, I have to want it more than anything else in the world.
Write it Down
You know how you set new year’s goals and then forget by February? You need to write it down and keep track of your progress. Have it in a convenient place so that you can check in on a regular basis.
Adding goal setting pages or inserts into your planner are a wonderful way to keep track of your goals.

Commit To It
You have to be mentally ready to take on the challenge that going after your goal will bring. Because most of the time it won’t be easy. So you have to make a commitment to yourself which means you will put the effort in, make time for it, and stick with it even when it gets tough. If you aren’t mentally prepared you will never even start.
Make The Time
You have to make time in your schedule for working towards your goal. Plan it out, write it on the calendar, work on it at the same time every day. Intentionally make the time for it, otherwise, something else will always be more important than working on your goal.
Be Accountable
Be accountable to yourself or someone else if you need to. Reevaluate where you are in the process and make sure you are still on track. Or let someone else be your accountability partner. Someone who won’t let you slide, or back down, and will help you get back on track.
Final Thoughts
Taking action is the most crucial step in making your goals happen. If you ever want to reach your goals, you must put in the time and effort to make it happen. Remember it may not always be easy, but it will definitely be worth it when it happens for you.
