Productive Things to Do on The Internet
We spend so much time on the internet and sometimes we do not even realize just how much we are online. Being on the internet can mean browsing online, shopping, or even losing track of time in social media.
Instead of wasting time on things that do not matter, there is a lot of fun and productive things to do on the internet.
We all know that moms have a lot of responsibilities and not enough time. Juggling kids, work, household chores and hobbies can be exhausting!
It’s hard for moms to find the time to do anything productive on the internet. Between kids’ homework, laundry, errands and keeping up with social media it seems like we never get a chance to catch up on our favorite blogs or read an article without being interrupted by something else.
This post is full of great ideas for things you can do online that won’t distract you from your other tasks but will still give you some much needed down time when your family is asleep or away at school/camp etc…

Take A Virtual Tour
One of the best things about the internet is that it gives you the possibility to go anywhere in the world, without ever actually going. Virtual tours have become popular for educational purposes as well as just seeing all of the great things about different areas of the world.
A few of the coolest virtual tours you can see online:
- The British Museum. Explore the ancient artifacts from around the world with an interactive virtual tour.
- The Louvre
There are many more virtual tours that you can take when you have some downtime. Virtual tours are a great opportunity to see the world around you, visit some of the most famous landmarks, and learn about different cultures or experiences.
Expand your vocabulary
Take advantage of online dictionaries to expand your vocabulary and learn new words and their meanings.
Learn a new language
You can find a variety of different online programs and sites like Duolingo.com that will help you learn a new language. If you have ever wanted to speak a different language, now is your chance!
Keep your math skills sharp
Use online games and math studies to help keep your math skills sharp. You may even learn a few new things! Mathrun.net is a good site to visit, it offers timed math quizzes that you can take for free.
Learn how to do something new
Instead of browsing your social media channels, spend that time learning how to do something new. You are never too old to stop learning and the possibilities of what you can learn to do are endless. Howtodothings.com has a little bit of everything and can help teach you how to do it, step by step.
Find a new recipe to try or learn how to cook
Interested in expanding your recipe collection or want to experience new flavors? Find online recipes to cook at home or take a cooking class over the internet to spice up your meals and expand your favorite go-to meals.
Learn how to speed read
Yes, this is still a thing! Use the internet to your advantage to accomplish even more after you have learned how to speed read. If you could speed read, you’d be able to learn more in a shorter period of time.
Exercise
Online exercise videos have become a good option for those who cannot get out to the gym or want to get a quick workout while they are at home. There are a lot of great exercise videos that you can find online to help you stay fit.
Whether you’re into yoga, pilates, or need to work on some cardio, there’s a Youtube video for it. Work exercise into your daily routine and stick to it if you want to see results.
Make some extra cash
Work on your own time making some extra cash. You can do this through online websites that offer cash for taking surveys, shopping, and more.
You can use Swagbucks to earn points that you can redeem for gift cards as you’re doing your regular online shopping.
Write and publish a book
Whether you have been planning to write that book or want to dip your toes into becoming a writer, why not work on it when you have free time. Sites like KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) offer you the ability to upload your book and sell it on Amazon for free.
Learn to play a new instrument
Ever wanted to play the guitar or piano? Make an initiative and decide that you’ll learn to play a new instrument instead. There are so many options online.
